[profit for Non Profit] AWARDS 2011
The second edition took place on Thursday 12 may during « les Ateliers de la Finance Responsable », an event which gathered each year finance professionals and delegates from the non-profit sector.
An independent Jury rewarded the best initiatives among 167 philanthropic products in Europe identified by a unique study conducted by Axylia Conseil.
Two types of Awards have been given out : the most “generous” financial products in each category and the most innovative in the field.
Awards by category :
• Sharing funds : Swedbank (Sweden)
Swedbank has 9,4 millions private clients and 693 000 small businesses in Sweden and Baltics. The bank has a balance sheet of €193m in march 2011 and 17 150 employees. In 2010, Swedbank sharing funds gave €4,5m to 79 different charities. Usually private clients donate 1% to 2% of their investment by sharing fund and it has allowed €90m to be collected since the range launching in 1992.
Axylia Conseil has established Swedbank is the unrivalled european leader, all the more admirable considering the demographic weight of its native country.
• Saving accounts : Crédit Coopératif (France)
Crédit Coopératif is offering clients to give back 50% of annual interests to a charity (among 20 proposed by the bank). The 8 saving accounts offered have generated €1,8m, positionning Crédit Coopératif as the leader in this category in Europe.
Innovation Award :
• Guilé Funds, de Pury Pictet Turrettini et Cie S.A. (Suisse)
Half of funds' management fees are given to the Fondation Guilé which operate strategic audits of listed companies in the funds according to the Global Compact Ten Principles. This helps companies to improve CSR. The Jury has praised this virtuous circle.
The other nominees were : Funds for Good (Belgium), Charity Investment Asset Management (France) and Crédit Coopératif (France).
The Jury was composed of :
Jean-Gil Bitouzet : Founder of Bourse Direct, the first french on-line broker, Jean-Gil is now developing PME DRIVER, a website for cash flow management and simultaneously manages social community housing for 15 years.
Olivier Dubigeon : Olivier is graduated Engineer and famous for reference books on CSR. He is also the french expert for the ISO 26000 norm.
Henri Vannerot : Henri is originally a lawyer then became banker during many years then director of the Fondation des petits frères des Pauvres. He is now president of the Fondation Pierre Fourrier-Alix Le Clerc.
